In 2007, Lee, Sarah and Wes Welker established the “83 Foundation” (after Wes’ uniform number in San Diego, Miami and New England). The Foundation was renamed the “Wes Welker Foundation” in December 2009. Its work primarily benefits schools and other organizations in Welker’s hometown of Oklahoma City. Since its inception, the Wes Welker Foundation has awarded more than $1,600,000 in grants to over 40 Oklahoma City schools and organizations.
These grants have paid for weight rooms, equipment, uniforms and improvements to facilities and fields. The impact these grants have made is measurable, not just in the form of championships won, but also by the dramatic increases in the number of kids participating in sports at the grant-recipient schools and the number of student athletes who have gone on to play sports at the college level.

How your money helps
I love how my Volleyball team is supportive of each other when we play together. My athletics encouraged me to be more involved in school and have more love for my school.
Football teaches me leadership and it motivates me to keep my grades up.
