About the WES WELKER FOUNDATION

MAKING A DIFFERENCE ONE SCHOOL AND ONE CHILD AT A TIME
In 2007, Lee, Sarah and Wes Welker established the “83 Foundation” (after Wes’ uniform number in San Diego, Miami and New England). The Foundation was renamed the “Wes Welker Foundation” in December 2009. Its work primarily benefits schools and other organizations in Welker’s hometown of Oklahoma City. Since its inception, the Wes Welker Foundation has awarded more than $1,400,000 in grants to over 40 Oklahoma City schools and organizations.
These grants have paid for weight rooms, equipment, uniforms and improvements to facilities and fields. The impact these grants have made is measurable, not just in the form of championships won, but also by the dramatic increases in the number of kids participating in sports at the grant-recipient schools and the number of student athletes who have gone on to play sports at the college level.
