Providing the funding for athletic-related programs and facilities is just one of the ways the Wes Welker Foundation positively influences at-risk youth. It all starts with our Grants program.

Applying for a Grant?

If your school or organization would like to apply for a grant, please read through our Grant Requirements page to see if you qualify. After carefully reading the grant requirements, please fill out the following application below. Please submit your application along with all applicable materials either online or by mail.

Grant Application Deadline

We accept applications twice annually. If you submit a grant application after one cycle has closed, your application will be considered and reviewed during the next cycle. This schedule aims to conform to school semester schedules.

All grants must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) by the deadline dates listed below:

Applying For A Grant?

Grant Guidelines: At-a-Glance:

  • Located within the Oklahoma City limits or within the geographic area of the Oklahoma City Public School District
  • Grantee must be an educational institution or an organization that is tax exempt under Section 501 (c)(3) of the tax code
  • Must serve High School age youth or younger
  • Completed grant applications must have 2 signatures on behalf of the applicant, one of which must be an administrator

Items generally reviewed:

  • Free and reduced lunch percentage
  • Number of youth impacted
  • Dollars per youth impacted
  • Sustainability (multi-year/used by more than one student)
  • Sustainability (multi-year/used by more than one student)
  • History with the Foundation, i.e. past grants
  • Other sources of funding, including MAPS, Alumni groups, district funds, other grants from organizations and/or foundations
  • Community Service involvement

Items Not Funded:

  • Fees
  • Appliances
  • Camp Registration Costs
  • Items that will only be used one year/season
  • Playground equipment
  • Meals
  • Lockers

Note: The Foundation may revoke a grant approval prior to funding, due to a material change in circumstances from the information provided in the Grant Application.
